21 Day Challenge to Manifest Personal Change

To manifest the changes that we want in our outer lives, we must start within.  According to Dr. Joe Dispenza, in order to change our reality, we must change our actions, to change our actions, we must change our emotions, and to change our emotions, we must change our thoughts.  We have to interrupt our cycle of being.  This means taking ourselves off autopilot and making a conscious effort.  To experiment with this process, I have created this challenge.

How Often is Reiki Needed to Maintain Wellness?

Most people feel good after a Reiki session.  They know right away if it is something they would like to experience again.  Those who enjoy it and find it beneficial often feel that it is something they should be doing regularly to maintain health.  But how regularly?  How often is Reiki needed to be most beneficial to us?

My Sign From an Angel

I kept seeing 444 and felt that I wasn't alone in anything I was facing.  I started to think more about angels and what part they may play in my life.  I began to wonder why they were suddenly sending this sign they were with me.  I thought and I wondered, but I took no actions.  Then one day I got an email about communicating with angels and, even thought it was a junk mail message, I felt compelled to open it.  It was pretty much what I expected.  A lot of information about what kind of information I would get if I paid enough money.  It got me thinking about the possibility of communicating with angels, though, and I decided I would just give it a try.  I asked out loud if the angels were with me to give me a sign.

Opening and Closing Words for Reiki Sessions

When I was first taught Reiki, I was only told to put my hands in prayer position and give thanks to Reiki and set the intention for healing before I begin a session. I love that my Reiki Master was vague about how exactly to do this, because it allowed me freedom to explore and find the words that worked best for me. This ritual can be as simple or in depth as the practitioner feels is right. The words I use have evolved over time to reflect things I have learned and to include “helpers.” I encourage my students to listen to their higher-self and find the words that resonate the most for them to begin their own sessions. I believe this is a personal practice and should be meaningful and unique to each practitioner.

Using Reiki at School

I have attuned my children to Level 1 Reiki, and we practice it regularly at home.  I have taught them to use Reiki as a coping skill when they feel overwhelmed.  It’s something they can do quietly and discreetly, and it helps them re-center and calm down.  This has been very successful for us.   It just never occurred to me to share with the school they were doing it.  I was a bit surprised that they accepted the caseworker’s information so readily, to be honest.  My children still prefer to do self-Reiki privately, but they like knowing that the school knows and that they are okay with it.

Fairy Crystal Message - Meditation Script

You walk until you come a clearing in the woods.  There is pond here, filled by a little waterfall, to one side of you.  Notice that there is a small opening behind the waterfall.  A little cave. Something seems to be glowing there, behind the water.  Move closer and you can see the glow is coming from several dancing little lights.  One of the lights comes forth from the little cave.  It flies through the water and towards you.  you have no fear.  Just pleasant curiosity about this beautiful little light.

Why Do I Still Feel Pain if Reiki is Working?

Just because Reiki does not always take away our aches and pains or prevent our illnesses, doesn’t mean it is not working and bringing healing to our lives.  When you look for evidence of Reiki’s benefits for you, don’t focus on what is still bothering you, but rather look for what is going right.  Maybe your back is still hurting, but you are able to sleep more soundly; or your migraine didn’t go away, but some old emotional wound that may have contributed to it is a little less painful and easier to accept.  Your body may not be perfectly restored, but your soul is healing.

3 Steps to Transform Limiting Beliefs

A limiting belief is a belief we have taken on over time that sets false limitations upon us.  Limiting beliefs usually begin to develop during early childhood.  Often, they are the result of ideas and opinions of others being forced upon us.  We were told we what we could and couldn’t do and how the world works and what to expect from it from the people that we looked up to and trusted to guide us.  However good intentioned they may have been, most caregivers will inevitably pass on some type of limiting beliefs to their charges.  This is just a consequence of their attachment to their own beliefs.  It is not something to be judged as good or bad, it just is.

5 Steps Towards Financial Abundance that Don’t Require a Large Investment

5 Steps Towards Financial Abundance

5 Steps Towards Financial Abundance

I have noticed a trend among life coaches and spiritual influencers pushing people to spend money they don’t feel they can afford to spend.  They promise that by giving them money you are giving off an energetic match for gaining money and that the rewards will be worth far more than the investment.  Spirit or the angels or the stars would not have led you to them if you weren’t meant to take this step.  Do it, do it, and you too will become rich.  It makes me think of the late-night infomercials I used to watch while I was up breastfeeding my first born in the middle of the night.  Give me your money, and I’ll teach you the secret of making money by asking people to give you money so that they too can learn the secret of making money.

Don’t get me wrong, I do fully believe that we can influence our financial wellness with the law of attraction.  I believe that it is extremely important to escape a poverty mind-set in order to begin manifesting abundance.  I also believe that when we spend money, we are not only sending it out into economic circulation, but also into an energetic circulation and that the energetic loss will be restored to us in some way or other.  I believe that these are truths, but I also believe it is very dangerous to encourage people to experiment with these truths by putting up money that they may need for necessities, and that it is just plain wrong to make someone feel that they are their own worst enemy in finding abundance because they are too cautious and careful with their cash.

The truth is, you don’t have to throw your money at some guru to get over your financial blocks.  You don’t need to spend hundreds or thousands of dollars for a workshop.  It’s okay to start small.  Here are some ideas that won’t break the bank.

1.       Identify your limiting beliefs surrounding money.  What kind of thoughts do you have about money?  Do you believe it is hard to come by or that you will always struggle financially?  Really take some time to think about your beliefs and where they originated.

2.       Change those limiting beliefs.  Regular use of affirmations can be extremely helpful for this.  Turn the beliefs around.  For example, if you believe money is hard to come by, use the affirmation, “money comes to me easily.”  If the beliefs are very deep seeded, you may need to get some professional support in changing them.  This doesn’t have to cost a fortune.  Look for books are articles about changing beliefs and practice the exercises they recommend.  If you decide to get a life coach, spend some time looking around to find someone with rates you feel you can afford and who will work with you personally rather than investing in an expensive single day or weekend workshop.

3.       Be grateful for all the money you have and everything you spend it on.  Take time to feel gratitude every time you spend money, especially when it is on bills and necessities.  Let yourself feel proud to have gotten them paid and thankful for your resources to do so.  Focus on gratitude for what you have and avoid focusing too much on what you don’t have.  When you focus on lack, you attract more lack.

4.       Circulate your money.  As I said above, I do money that when we send money out goes into an energetic circulation and will find its way back to us in some form or another.  This doesn’t require you to dig too deep, though.  If you have nothing extra to work with after paying bills, then when you pay your bills, do so with the intent of putting that energy into circulation.  Even if you shop thriftily, you can do so with the intent of circulating financial energy.  Donate loose change to your favorite charities or causes.  If you have a little extra and already go out sometimes, try tipping a dollar more than you would have.  If you have worked on your limiting beliefs, you should be able to do this with faith that nothing will be lost.  That faith is the key here.  It doesn’t take spending hundreds of dollars.  Start by spending just a little with the faith it will come back to you.  Then when it does, try putting out a little more.  Work your way up to those big investments and don’t let anyone try to convince you to make them if you don’t feel ready.

5.       Listen to your higher self.  If you have a nagging feeling that you really need to make an investment, don’t hold back simply out of fear.  Listen to the feeling and figure out a way to make it work.  If you are given an opportunity that sounds great, but everything in you is saying it is not the right time to be spending the money on it, don’t.  You are the greatest expert in your life.  You know what you can handle and what you can’t better than anyone else.  Pay attention to what your intuition is telling you.  Trust yourself.

I hope you find these tips to be helpful and are able to use them to begin to manifest financial abundance.  An abundant life does not have to be a financial stressor and it is not something you need to pay someone an arm and a leg in order to achieve.

6 Questions to Help Healers Cope When a Loved One is Not Ready to Heal

It is one of the most difficult lessons of helping people as a lightworker.  You learn that you are not a healer to anyone but yourself.  Everyone must do their own work.  By working on your own self-healing you raise the collective vibrations and make things a bit easier in the world and you are able to lead by example and you are in a position to hold space and inspire hope, but you cannot heal anyone else.

Reiki, the Angels, and Our Guides

Many Reiki practitioners feel guided to other metaphysical studies, such as angel healing and spirit guides.  Either the studies led them to Reiki, or Reiki opened their interests to such things and drove them to want to learn and explore more.  They often incorporate what resonates with them into their lives and Reiki practice.  It seems to come naturally to many of us, one modality or belief system flowing into and with another.

A Brief History of Usui Reiki

Usui200.jpg

Much of the true history of Usui Reiki is still unknown in the West.  It was passed down without written documentation in an effort of preserve the sacredness of the practice.

There are many versions of the history of Reiki available online and in books.  First, I’m going to tell you a little bit about the verified history of Usui Reiki as I have learned it.  Then I’ll give you a brief summary of the history of Reiki as related by Master Takata.

I would love for you to read the detailed account of the history of Reiki by William Lee Rand.  It can be found at  https://www.reiki.org/faq/historyofreiki.html.  He gives the best researched history of Reiki I have been able to find so far (more research is being done all the time).  In contrast to many other accounts, examples of Reiki practices that predated Usui are given mention.

A Summary of Usui Reiki According to William Lee Rand

Mikao Usui was the founder of the Usui Shiki Ryoho Reiki system.  Usui was a Buddhist scholar born in 1865 that seemed to have dedicated his life to helping others.  He was a spiritual man and in 1922, when facing some personal and financial difficulties, he decided to go on a 21-day retreat on Mt. Kurama seeking spiritual awakening.

While meditating on the retreat he had a miraculous spiritual experience that gave him his ability to heal others and to pass this gift on to others through attunement and led him to create his style of Reiki.

He used this knowledge to establish the Usui Reiki Healing Society. Mikao Usui believed an important part of living a good and healthy life was following certain ethical principles.  Inspired by Emperor Meiji, Usui established the five principles, which I will discuss more later.

Usui is believed to have had thousands of students before his death in 1926, but only 16 of these reached the Master level.

After Usui’s death, one of his Master students, Chujiro Hayashi, became Usui’s successor and began his own Reiki society.  He simplified the Reiki healing process and created many detailed hand positions for treating various ailments.  He also simplified the attunement process.

In 1940 Master Hayashi committed suicide to keep from being forced to give intelligence and fight in WWII.  Before his death he asked Madam Takata, who he had trained and attuned, to be his successor.

Hawayo Takata, a Japanese Hawaiian born in 1900, had become very ill and had gone to Japan for healing.  She was preparing to receive surgery when she believed she heard a voice telling her not to have the surgery and to find another way.

She asked the doctor about an alternative healthcare option and he sent her to Hayashi’s clinic where she was treated and became well.  She convinced him to teach her Reiki, though it was never meant to leave Japan.

Hawayo Takata was eventually attuned to the Master Level.  She brought Reiki to the West and trained many people, attuning 22 Westerners to the Master Level.  From those 22 Masters, Reiki spread throughout the Western world.

Hawayo Takata’s Reiki History Story

The story that has been passed down as Hawayo Takata’s teaching by the Masters who came after her has been found to be mostly fabrication.

As the story was told, it succeeded in gaining acceptance in the Western world and facilitating the growth of the healing system here. Had a more accurate account of the origin of Reiki been spread, it may never have expanded throughout the world the way it has.

The story that was passed down from Takata, and that was widely accepted until fairly recently, was that Usui was a Christian professor challenged by a student to find a way to heal as Jesus did.

In his efforts for find a healing system comparable to that of Jesus, Usui went on the 21-day fast on Mt. Kurama.  On the 21st day he received a spiritual awakening and had visions of many symbols.  Afterward, he stubbed his toe on his way down the mountain.  Upon grabbing his toe with his hand, he discovered his healing abilities.

Usui went to the poor and offered them healing, but they kept coming back needing more healing because they didn’t change the way of life that was making them sick.  He then decided that for Reiki to be lastingly effective there must be some sort of exchange.

At that point he began charging money for healing sessions and attunements and opened his clinic.

This is only a very brief summary of Madam Takata’s story as I have learned it.  More detailed versions can easily be found with an online search engine and in numerous books about Reiki.

Continued Reiki History Research

There are many Reiki scholars who are endeavoring to collect a more complete and accurate history of Reiki. As more information is uncovered, this article will likely become outdated. I encourage you to look for up-to-date resources from reliable sources for the most accurate information.

It’s interesting to learn about the history of this healing modality that has done so much to change my life.  I hope you will continue to educate yourself as more information is made available to us.

What Happens During a Distance Crystal Reiki Session with Crystal Reiki Wellness?

At the time of the appointment, I use symbols and visualizations to make an energetic connection to you.  This is made possible by the interconnectedness of all life and the life force energy of which all things are made.  I then perform a scan of the energetic body with a crystal pendulum and take note of the energy flow of each Chakra.  I will pick crystals based on concerns mentioned on the intake form, the energetic scan, and my own intuition.  I place the crystals in pockets over the Chakras of the surrogate doll, which is connected to you, sending the vibrations from the crystals to you.  I will then do a full Reiki session just as I would if we were in the same room.  When I am finished, I will do another scan with the pendulum and take not of any changes in the energy flow.

3 Steps to Attune an Object with Reiki by Pat Gray

Reiki is the ancient Japanese practice of balancing energy, and can also be used to “charge” or “empower” objects with healing, protective, positive energy. These objects can then be given as gifts to someone who needs a bit of a boost, used to increase the effectiveness of a healing session or placed around the home for protection or to improve situations. Any object can be charged – your car, a crystal or stone, your home, jewelry, a piece of paper with an affirmation.

Reiki Sent – How Fast Can a Distance Treatment be Sent?

Sending Distance Reiki

Sending Distance Reiki

On any given day, you will find multiple requests for free Reiki on the internet.  There is so much suffering in the world and so many people needing help.  After these requests there are streams of replies that all amount to, “Reiki Sent”.  Wonderful.  It is wonderful that so many people are willing to share their practice to help others.  But, are they really sending Reiki?

As a Second-Degree Reiki student, I was taught several methods for sending distance Reiki.  I was also taught that with practice the ability would come almost instantaneously.  I assume that this instantaneous method is what gets sent the most often in these situations.  I would like to share with you my personal opinion of this method of practicing Reiki.

I do believe there is worth in these treatments.  You can quickly produce the symbols in your mind, reciting their names and connecting with the recipient.  It doesn’t take long to set the intention to send the energy.  However, I think of this method of sending Reiki as being closer to sending prayers than healing.  Without taking the time to focus and get into that zone where we become Reiki and let the energy flow freely through us to our recipient, I feel that what we are really doing is sending a request for Reiki to send itself to the recipient.  Much in the way that some religions will ask God to send healing.

I do a variation of the same thing myself with my Reiki Box.  This is why I choose to refer to my free Reiki Box offering as Reiki Box Blessings, rather than Reiki Box Healing.  I put multiple names and situations within my box and once a day I draw the symbols over it and spend about 10 minutes channeling Reiki to the contents.  I ask Spirit and my guides to allow Reiki to continue to flow to the people and situations that I have been working with.  I offer this service for free.  It allows me to help several people at once and takes little time or effort.  I work a little and I expect Spirit to bless my recipients by doing the rest.  You can read about how I created my box in my article 5 Steps To Create, Use, And Maintain A Reiki Box.

In contrast, when I send a distance healing session, I do everything I would if my client was in the room with me.  I clear the energy in my space and set the stage, so to speak, with soft music and essential oils, and any crystals I plan to use.  I focus in on the recipient using their name and location, and image if I have it, while I draw and recite the proper symbols.  When the connection feels strong and my higher self has met with theirs, I go through an entire session.  I use a Reiki Surrogate doll for this, going through the scanning process, placing crystals, and doing the hand placements.  I do this because it is easier for me to let my body go through the physical motions, but the real work is being done on a non-physical level.  For me, this is true distance Reiki.  I am opening myself to the energy and becoming one with it and taking the time to focus and channel it through myself to my client.  At the end of the session, I do ask that Reiki continue to flow to my client as long as needed, but I have not left it all up to Spirit and Reiki, I have done my part.  This method takes time and skill and I do charge for it accordingly.

I believe we are always doing good when we intend to send Reiki to others and that it will always have some benefit for them.  I trust Spirit to help open the recipients of this instant Reiki up to the energy and to help them.  I believe that the more people that send the intentions, the stronger the effect will be.  However, I think that as Reiki Practitioners, when we take the time to connect and channel the energy in a meditative and conscious way, we are personally doing more to help our clients and that they will receive a greater benefit from the treatment.
