Since I began practicing Reiki, I have enjoyed incorporating it into my everyday life. I do not just see Reiki as a means of healing, for me it has become a lifestyle. The holiday season has been another opportunity to bring Reiki into my life.
It does not matter what holidays you celebrate, why you celebrate, or how. Reiki can easily be made a part of your holiday traditions. Only you can know the best way to weave Reiki into your holidays, but I will share with you some of the ways I have brought Reiki into mine to give you an idea of how easily it can be done and the benefits it can have.
Self-Reiki for Relaxation – The holidays can be a wonderful time, but they can also be incredibly stressful and for some outright painful. Remembering to pause from the bustle of it all and take time for yourself is important. Scheduling time each day, even if it is only a short amount of time, to spend on self-Reiki treatments is a great way to stay relaxed and grounded throughout the season.
Reiki for Friends, Family, and Situations – Giving Reiki (when you have permission) to friends and family to help them stay relaxed and grounded as well, is a nice way to spread holiday cheer. For Second- and Third-Degree Practitioners, this can also be done as distance, which is wonderful this year with so many of us having to be separated from our loved one because of the pandemic. In addition to sending distance Reiki to family and friends, remember that it can also be sent to situations, times, and places. For instance, you can send Reiki to Christmas morning with the intention that the day’s events are best for everyone’s highest good.
Reiki the Food and Gifts – I like to connect with Reiki while I prepare food for my family, I take a few moments to draw the symbols above the dishes and hold my hands there to channel Reiki now and again during the cooking process and before serving the meal. This year I decided to do the same during the gift-wrapping process. I connect with Reiki before I get started and take a moment to channel it to each gift. This clears out any negative energy picked up by the item before it came to you and sets the intention for the item to be all it was meant to be, both practically and sentimentally.
Reiki your Rituals – Most of us engage in many rituals over the holidays. Reiki can easily be incorporated into most rituals. One ritual I enjoy is lighting candles in my Yule Log each year. I save the old candles to light the next year’s. Before lighting the old candles, I hold them in my hands and let Reiki flow while I think about what I am grateful for that year and what I wish to release. After using them to light the new candles, I continue to let Reiki flow and hold my hands up to the lighted Yule Log while setting my hopes and intentions for the coming year.
These are only a few suggestions to give you and idea of how you can use Reiki during the holidays. I hope they give you inspiration. I would love to hear how you use Reiki during your own holiday celebrations in the https://www.facebook.com/groups/CrystalReikiWellness.
