Introducing children to Reiki can be incredibly beneficial to them. Even very young children have the ability to learn and practice Reiki, however it is a good idea to implement a screening process for potential child students to make sure they are ready for training.  Some children may not be ready for a Reiki class, or it may just not be right for them.
